How to NOT destroy your relationship
Everybody knows that relationships are not simple things to maintain, even at the best of times they can be difficult. So why do many relationships simply stop working? There are many reasons for this happening and surprisingly some of these reasons can be avoided. If you've had relationship troubles before, listen up, this may help you more than you know. 1. Never, ever, EVER, accuse your spouse of cheating. This is a big no no. Unless you have actual proof, don't do it. You're only going to create trust issues, perhaps bigger issues. 2. Try complimenting your spouse at least once a day. Take every opportunity as a chance to make your spouse feel special. This is for the guys mainly. Girls love to be treated like they're the only girl on the planet. Girls love to needed and wanted. They need to know. 3. Reassurance is best. We all need reassurance even when we don't realise. If you know that your spouse has issues such as weight or appearance, reassure him or her. Tell them that you think they're perfect, tell them you need them, tell them you want them. 4. Be truthful. You should have no reason to ever lie, and if you do, you have some explaining to do. Don't hide things from your spouse. This can be anything from a large purchase, to a foolish decision. Come clean, if they find out you're lying, then it makes things twice as worse. 5. Never change! Don't become someone else if you don't have too. Otherwise, you'll be hearing the line "You've changed" sometime soon. Be yourself, your spouse fell in love and wants to be with you, not someone else. 6. Don't stop trying. As much as of would dispute or would deny, sex is a huge part of most relationships. It may also surprise you too know that sex(quality and quantity) can be the deciding factor of someone wanting to be in a relationship. As shallow as this sounds, it is very much the case. Try new things, experiment. Don't get stuck in the same routine where your partner won't want to have sex with you anymore. 7. It's 50/50. It's not 60/40 or even 50/40. Don't expect your partner to do everything, take control and contribute where necessary. If you take a back-seat to your life, you are at risk of losing your partner. Remember it takes two people to have a relationship and it takes two people to make it work. 8. Communication is the key to a great relationship. A lot of relationships simply fizzle out and die because communication is simply lost. Ask questions, have discussions. Use every situation as an excuse to talk with your partner, make them feel like a part of your life. 9. Make time. Another huge factor in relationships is one another not making enough time for each other. Try including your partner in things and making time for them. Don't use things like work or a gaming console as a reason to not be with your partner. We all deserve our own time occasionally, but you should know when it's your time and our time.
